Contest – 12th Annual W Prize 2027

For this new edition, we invite you to take a fresh look at an iconic Mediterranean landmark: the Château d’If.
A legendary fortress, a witness to history and the collective imagination, the Château d’If becomes a testing ground for contemporary reflection where heritage, artistic creation, and ephemeral architecture converge.
Your mission? To conceive a contemporary addition—lightweight, reversible, and adaptable—capable of revealing the monument in a new light. Whether it takes the form of a theatrical pavilion, an art installation, a maritime theater, or a landscape intervention, your proposal must create a sensitive dialogue between the site’s history and the challenges of contemporary creation.
