S8 - A workshop in Africa

Yaoundé, Cameroon MVOG MBI

ENSA Normandie, a DE Trans-Form student team (Perrine Henry, Maeva Cotigny, Adrien Billard, Marie Armand, Justine Blanchard) and their teaching supervisors (Théo Vinceslas, Bertrand Verney) were unanimously ranked first in the competition organized by the Institut français in Yaoundé Cameroun for a bus station for the new rapid bus line in the MVOG MBI district. In the wake of this competition, the workshop, co-organized by Bruno Proth (teacher at ENSA Normandie), took place from June 10 to 13, 2025 for the in situ construction of this 15-square-meter facility using bio-sourced materials, and whose functions will be drawn from the results of a social survey carried out by the students of the Université de la Montagne. This activity involved 3 European schools (ENSA Normandie, Université La Cambre Horta - Brussels and ENSA Val de Seine - Paris) and 3 Cameroonian schools (Université de la Montagne and Ecole des travaux publics in Yaoundé and École des Beaux Arts de Foumban). François Streiff, a teacher at ENSA Normandie and an internationally recognized specialist in earthen architecture, was a member of the jury. This booklet is the result of this incredible adventure.
