The Conseil d'Architecture d'Urbanisme et de l'Environnement des Deux-Sèvres (CAUE 79) is a non-profit organization
created by the Conseil départemental des Deux-Sèvres in 1979. It
is chaired by Estelle Gerbaud, Vice-President of the Conseil Départemental in charge of
territorial development.
The CAUEs were born of the French Architecture Act, which stipulates in Article 1 that "architecture is
an expression of culture. Architectural design, the quality of buildings, their harmonious integration
harmonious integration into the surrounding environment, respect for natural or urban landscapes and heritage
are in the public interest...".
As such, the CAUE provides local authorities with advice and support in all areas relating to the living environment
architecture (construction, renovation and extension), the development of public and landscaped

environment. It also advises private individuals wishing to build or renovate. The
advisors cannot take on project management.
The CAUE79 can also train and raise awareness among the public at large: elected representatives, technicians,

Responsibilities of the position to be filled
- Advice and support for local authority projects;
- Participation in commissions, juries and specialized working groups in the field of
architecture;
- Participation in the collective design of awareness-raising, information and training initiatives
the CAUE (general public, young people, elected representatives and local authority technicians)
- Advice to private individuals on new-build projects, extensions and renovations;
- Support for private individuals as part of experimental approaches initiated by local
for housing development projects;
- Contributions to CAUE 79 publications.
Profile required
Architect DPLG, HMNOP or DE.
Knowledge required
- Knowledge of building, rehabilitation and urban planning regulations

- General knowledge of environmental quality and sustainable development approaches

- General knowledge of the public procurement code;
- Proficiency in office automation (Office 365) and graphic representation tools

Accounting with private practice
- In accordance with article 17 of the CAUE by-laws concerning staff obligations, this position
excludes the holder of this position from any form of self-employed project management

Contract and recruitment conditions
- Full-time permanent contract;
- Position based in Niort at CAUE 79 (Maison du Département), with occasional travel throughout the department.
