The École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Normandie has benefited from an exceptional financial package from the Government's stimulus plan for its energy renovation. After 10 months of studies, the rehabilitation of the workshops in the park has been launched. Built in 1998 by the architect Patrice Mottini, this building was nominated for the prestigious "Equerre d'Argent" award. Its "Remarkable Contemporary Architecture" label is currently being processed. Condemned in 2013 for non-compliance, the building will be returned to its original use, teaching and research in architecture. The glazed floors will provide optimum working conditions for the researchers of the ATE laboratory (29 researchers, 14 doctoral students, 2 staff). The large studio will be reconfigured as a digital room for distance learning, colloquia and meetings in hybrid format. Finally, the basement will be enlarged and lit to provide a platform for work on eco-construction, pending the construction of an experimental hall.

The wooden cabins ofENSA Normandie
The "Flake Houses" were created in 2006 for the Sarthe Council of Architecture, Urban Planning, and the Environment's "Petites Machines à Habiter" competition.ENSA Normandie these cabins from ENSA Nantes. The school is launching a call for projects for the future of these two wooden structures.

To be used for existing or new student or association projects
Mobile huts can be moved around the park but must be close to an existing electrical point (School / Park Workshop / Association House) to avoid making a trench in the ground
Land must be flat or with land compensation if this is not the case

"Co-Living Archi", a project designed by and for students
The project consists of creating student accommodation on the site of the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Normandie, itself located in the commune of Darnétal. The design will be carried out in conjunction with the students of the school in order to imagine types of accommodation adapted to their use and their residential path (single room/flat share/couple/young professionals).
A mix of uses Business premises are also planned on the ground floor, allowing for a mix of uses, particularly in connection with the "La Fruitière" incubator run byENSA Normandie.
Eco-design research
The project will be supported by the research carried out by the ATE laboratory, with its expertise in the field of eco-construction
As part of the S08 lecture course: Architecture, city and territory
After a brief return to the legacy of FL Omlsted, which inspires Michel Desvigne's practice, the presentation goes through a series of projects at different territorial scales, notably in several port and river cities. Amongst other things, the questions of the reconversion and renaturation of vast commercial and industrial sites, the management of rainwater, the continuity of structuring vegetation, the deployment of soft transport routes, etc. are raised.
Michel Desvigne is an internationally recognised landscape architect who has developed projects in more than twenty-five countries. His work helps to make visible and enhance landscapes, to understand the mechanisms at work that give them form, and to act on these mechanisms to transform landscapes and give them meaning. In 2011, he was awarded the Grand Prix de l'Urbanisme for his contribution and reflection on the city and the territory. In 2014, he was awarded the European Prize for Urban Public Space for his project to restore the Old Port of Marseille.
Since last October, the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Normandie has had a scheme to encourage the emergence of innovative entrepreneurship in the field of architecture. This one-year support programme is aimed at architecture graduates or collectives. Alann Bourgeard and Paul de Cathelineau are the winners of this first session.
The École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Normandie is hosting Chantiers Commun. Architects with different backgrounds will share their experiences and talk about their daily lives, whether they work as project managers in rural areas, are involved in serving local authorities and residents within a CAUE or are experimenting in the field, as is the case with Territoires Pionniers.
As part of the EU 1 lecture course: "The coastline: tourism and climate change
The conference proposed by Professor Stéphane Costa will address three main issues:
- The general functioning of the coastline and the current problems of erosion and flooding by the sea
- Current management methods
- The consequences of climate change and the resulting rise in average sea level, which will impose new ways of living on the coast and territorial recomposition.
Stéphane Costa is a professor at the University of Caen Normandy, director of the UMRCNRS 6266 IDEES Caen Geophen laboratory, and co-chair of the Normandy IPCC. His research topics focus on natural hazards in coastal areas (erosion, flooding, climate change).

Following the favourable opinion of the board of directors on 13 January, the Minister of Culture has appointed Raphaël Labrunye as director of the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Normandie. Mr Labrunye had been appointed as director of this school on 1 February 2019. This new three-year mandate, in accordance with the decrees in force, will take effect from 1 February 2022. It follows on from the profound changes that took place during the first mandate, with the definition of a school project, a new pedagogical model and major property investments carried out as part of the Recovery Plan.
