Gabriella TROTTA-BRAMBILLA
Senior Lecturer Doctor
City and Territories
Presentation
Graduated in Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano (2004), I obtained a PhD in Urbanism-Architecture (2013, Grenoble-Alpes University). I worked at the Grenoble Institute of Urban Planning (ATER, research engineer and contractual teacher, between 2009 and 2016) and at the National Superior School of Architecture of Grenoble (Associate Lecturer from 2015 to 2020). I am currently a lecturer in the field of City and Territories at the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Normandie (since 2020). I coordinate the research axis entitled Urbanities and Resilient Ruralities (URRbs) within the Architecture-Territory-Environment laboratory (ATE-ENSAN) since 2021.
My main research activities are in the field of urban and architectural design, particularly in relation to sustainable mobility and socio-environmental vulnerabilities in European contexts. My work now focuses on new ways of designing inhabited spaces in order to adapt them to climate change; on systemic processes of transformation of urban heritage in a perspective of circular urbanism; on the design of public spaces as a lever to encourage sustainable mobility (soft modes, public transport, multimodality); on urban and architectural design favourable to health (and in particular for the elderly).
