Conference - "Objects - Resources
- School life
Monday, September 8, 2025 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. - Jean Duminy Amphitheatre - France
Conference by Côme Rollin, Olivier Thomas and Mathieu Volkovitch, Amor Immeuble
"[...] The Amor Immeuble group of architects is concerned with the material conditions of the world as it is: fragmented, senseless, saturated by the innumerable objects we produce but, above all, discard. Their awareness of the inexorable scarcity of raw materials is matched by a vertigo in the face of unsuspected deposits of repressed things,
[...] "Resource objects" rather than "found objects", they are less one-offs than series, indicative not of scarcity but of the bygone abundance of our modern, industrial past. [...] At a distance from current doctrines of reuse, recycling or up-cycling, which often reduce resources to their mere technical performance with a view to their exploitation, Amor Immeuble's proposals combine the poetic and political, cultural and aesthetic dimensions of the fragments they manipulate in order to release their full architectural power."
