Associate Professor

Theories and Practices of Architectural and Urban Design

Presentation

Born in 1978, Viet Le Trong participated as a student in the founding of the School of Architecture of the City & Territories. He graduated in 2006.
After several years of training at Parisian architecture firms, Viet Le Trong began teaching in 2009 while also founding his own architecture firm in Paris, grandhuit architecture.
He began his architectural practice at the same time as he began teaching, and the two practices have been carried out in tandem from the outset, each feeding into the other.
His professional practice is based on complementarity and permeability with teaching. Private commissions on various scales and architectural interventions in existing buildings constitute the main field of investigation of his work. His recent years of teaching on the subject of housing have found expression in his work as an architect through the notion of interior architecture built on attention to uses and developing an aesthetic of use with ordinary heritage as the main resource. Architecture as transformation regains its place in broader ecosystems and in a long-term perspective. He joinedENSA Normandie 2020 and will be part of the DE Trans-form program starting in the fall of 2022.
