Atelier Carl Arvidsson is a small agency based in Bagnoles-de-l'Orne, Normandy. Composed of two people, Carl Arvidsson, architect, and Marlène Chauvet, spouse and collaborator, the agency focuses mainly on projects for private individuals, including building permits and renovation of old buildings.
Carl Arvidsson, a Swedish architect who graduated from the KADK school in Copenhagen in 2018, is currently studying at the École de Chaillot to strengthen his heritage skills, while managing the studio's projects. Heritage plays a key role in our business, as we do a lot of work on older buildings, notably on the Swedish Chalet, the emblematic pavilion of the 1889 Universal Exhibition in Paris, alongside the Eiffel Tower. The Conseil d'Architecture d'Urbanisme et de l'Environnement des Deux-Sèvres (CAUE 79) is a non-profit organization
created by the Conseil départemental des Deux-Sèvres in 1979. It
is chaired by Estelle Gerbaud, Vice-President of the Conseil Départemental in charge of
territorial development.
The CAUEs were born of the French Architecture Act, which stipulates in Article 1 that "architecture is
an expression of culture. Architectural design, the quality of buildings, their harmonious integration
