From project to analysis
This course looks at the role of analysis in the creation of a project. In-depth knowledge of a site enables the architect to design with sensitivity. Analysis is a tool through which the architect brings out elements that will become the basis of a project.
The course will cover various forms of analysis (photographic studies, perspective sketches, re-drawings of cartographies... ), and will emphasize its subjective character. Accompanied by excerpts from landscape architect Michel Corajoud's text "le projet de paysage : lettre aux étudiants", and through a series of case studies, the course will show that analysis implies bringing out certain information more than others, that it leads to taking a position, and that from these different positions emerge projects that can be very diverse, even in opposition.

- 1 territory - 2 approaches: Cap de Creus peninsula, a topography in time, 2016 / Cap de Creus re-naturalization project, 2005-2010 , Toni Girones arquitecte.

Constructive fictions
Giving students an understanding of the tangible value of matter (raw and transformed) from the point of view of the architectural discipline. Through a selection of projects, the aim is to provide the tools for reflection needed to understand the diversity and complexity of approaches to matter in architectural work.

The architecture of the ground
Addressing the role of public space in the city and its capacity to structure and accompany territorial changes and lifestyles.
Soil scarcity has revealed the importance of soil and the way in which mankind transforms and remodels the earth's crust. Soil is not just a surface, it is made up of different strata and layers that interact with each other to form an environment in which people take their place. Thinking about public space is an act of design in its own right, and cannot be approached simply through a composition in plan. The architecture of the ground transforms and shapes the various physical, sociological and historical elements of our cities and territories, and therefore plays an important role in environmental transition.
The course analyzes public space projects at different scales from a 3-pronged perspective: the materiality and geometry of floor coverings, water management as a tool for transforming the urban landscape, and the strategies and roles of plant elements.
