ENSA Normandy

National School of Architecture of Normandy A public institution of higher education and research, the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture of Normandy assumes all the missions devolved to the twenty French schools of architecture placed under the supervision of the the Ministry of Culture, from initial training to the exchange of knowledge and practices within the international the international scientific and cultural community. In addition to an initial Bachelor's/Master's degree, ENSA Normandie delivers a Bachelor's degree in architecture in Hanoi (Vietnam), a Master's degree in collaboration with the University of Le Havre (Master DRAQ), the HMONP and a doctorate from the University of Rouen. It hosts the ATE Welcome Team composed of 18 full researchers including 5 HDR and 6 PhD students. ATE is registered in the ED 556 (Hommes Sociétés Risques Territoires) of the University of Rouen Normandy. ENSA Normandie is currently supported by 70 permanent teachers, 60 external contributors and an administrative team of 42 agents.

Your tasks

Within the framework of the consortium constituted around the CMA-ARCHI project gathering the 20 national schools of architecture, ENSAN is recruiting a research officer to contribute to the employment-skills diagnosis of the architecture professions. Divided into several parts, the one carried out by ENSAN targets training in intervention in existing buildings.

From a general point of view, the objective of the CMA - ARCHI project is to participate in the consolidation of the architecture sector through a more detailed knowledge of its professions and the skills associated with them. The aim is to better identify the qualitative and quantitative needs in this field of skills and to document the adaptation of the training offer with regard to the socio-economic, technological and environmental transitions that have impacted the sector over the last twenty years.

In line with this overall objective and in collaboration with the other partners, the position will have the following main tasks:

  • Analyze beforehand the architecture business and understand the project deliverables related to ENSAN actions;
  • Collect curricula in Europe and analyze the contents in a more qualitative way (in connection with the issues of digital transition, ecological transition and methods and techniques of intervention in the existing);
  • Lead the drafting of the final diagnosis on the intervention in the existing;
  • Analyze and propose ways to improve training;
  • To write recommendations for the evolution of the reference systems of competences on the chapter intervention in the existing;
  • Work in close collaboration with other research managers of the other partners, use and exchange on the common knowledge and results obtained;
  • Internal and external communication.

Preferably with a Master's degree in architecture with research training.

Reporting relationships:

He/she will report to the Director of Teaching and Research.

Functional links:

He/she will work in close collaboration with the scientific coordinators of the CMA - ARCHI project, with the research department and with the management of ENSAN.

Duration of the contract: 5 month fixed term contract.
