Since its creation in 2009, the Perspectives Rurales network has drawn on the diverse scientific and educational activities of its members—ENSA Normandie —to link its discussions to issues related to the training of architects, landscape architects, urban planners, and agronomists. The various meetings have consistently given significant attention to the theoretical and reflective analysis of educational initiatives that are being implemented or that examine ways of “developing projects” in rural areas.

This annual report provides an overview of progress made, identifies areas for improvement, and outlines concrete actions to be implemented to ensure that women and men have equal access to leadership positions, resources, fair compensation, and equal recognition. This 2026 Observatory is the result of a collaborative effort between the Department of Studies, Forecasting, Statistics, and Documentation (DEPS) of the Ministry of Culture, the Senior Official for Equality, Diversity, and the Prevention of Discrimination, and the Monitoring Unit of the Directorate General for Artistic Creation (DGCA). It is up to each and every one of us to embrace this new edition to support the movement toward true equality between women and men!

Higher education in culture is a network of 99 establishments under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture throughout France, with over 36,000 students.

Focused on the professionalization of students, these establishments provide training in a wide range of professions and practices in the fields of visual arts, performing arts, audiovisual arts, design, heritage, architecture and landscape.

The aim of this document is to present this rich range of training courses, comprising over 40 national diplomas, with a view to informing the widest possible audience, first and foremost secondary school students and their families. For each field, it also highlights the professions for which these establishments provide training.
