Objectives
At the end of the semester the student should be able to:
- Analyze from a technical and ambient point of view an existing building in its environmental context (climatic, acoustic, light).
- Produce an architectural and technical proposal adapted to a given climate, analyzed by the bibliography.
- Use the tools of simulation of the ambiences
- Choose a construction method and materials adapted to the environmental impact of the latter weighted by the constructive relevance of the choices.
- Communicate in a group in writing and orally on a complex design.
Content
This module proposes to all third-year students to evaluate the environmental quality of their own architectural proposals. The principle of this teaching as well as its stakes are in direct link with the context of the experimentation project of the BBCA and E+C labels currently in progress among the professionals.

The general course:

1- Theoretical courses 8 x 2h (CM): introduction of the subject and tools
Notions of sustainable development (Application to construction + labels and certifications) + Subject grey energy and carbon impact, experimentation with students in parallel with the implementation of RE carbon energy.

2- Tutorial 10 x 3h (TD) + 2h (Final report):

Appropriation through practical application during the TD sessions with thematic advancement framed in the subject distributed before the first TD and introducing the topics until the rendering: analysis of climate and sound environment, bioclimatic design, acoustic design, envelope, gray energy and CO2, detail, synthesis, ...
Evaluation method
Two evaluation methods to be applied in parallel:
1. Evaluation of CM: Continuous assessment
2. TD evaluation: Continuous work, compulsory attendance at the workshop. Weekly collective and personal production and presentation, a report of the exercise requested at the end of each TD, intermediate pre-reports of the project, and at the end of the course final report of the project (file + oral presentation)

Continuous assessment: 30
- attendance and commitment
- intermediate reports.

Final report : 70
- oral presentation : 20
- final report : 50
Work required
1. Partial return of the requested exercise at the end of each TD & Intermediate project pre-reports in the middle of the semester
2. At the end of the semester:
- Hand in an illustrated file showing the argued result of the applied eco-design exercise.
- hand in a note of intent allowing the reader to understand the choices made.
- Present the project orally to the jury

The evaluation criteria are :
- coherence and relevance of the bioclimatic design,
- architectural and technical design & relationship between these two aspects,
- integration and control of environmental impact issues,
- communication.
