Call for papers - Labyrinthe #1

[EXTENSION]
Until October 7, 2024 -

The "Labyrinthe" fanzine is an editorial project initiated by a collective of doctoral students atENSA Normandie ATE, straddling several statuses—student, researcher, professional, teacher, architect, etc. — with the aim of sharing and promoting an exploratory approach, a transitional, liminal position on the fringes of architectural practice.

In anticipation of the December 2024 issue, a call for contributions is open, focusing on three areas of work:

DE-MEASUREMENT, understood as the loss of a frame of reference, of a means of comparison, and as an opportunity to deconstruct and reconstruct our framework for apprehending reality;
MUTATION, understood as a way of adapting to changing contexts, as the transformation of oneself in response to that of the world;
RESILIENCE, understood as the ability to withstand shocks, to endure despite destabilization, as a mode of adaptive resistance.

MULTIFORM proposals must be submitted by October 7, 2024 (finalized proposals).

Cross-disciplinary review

Call for entries - Chantiers - matières & outils : l'architecture mise en œuvre

The journal Transversale is calling for papers for its eighth issue on the theme of Construction Sites – Materials & Tools: Architecture in Practice.
This issue is coordinated by Marie Gaimard, lecturer atENSA Normandie researcher at ATE, Gilles-Antoine Langlois, professor at ENSA Paris-Val-de-Seine and researcher at EVCAU, and Léonore Losserand, lecturer at ENSA Paris-Val-de-Seine and researcher at EVCAU.

This call for papers is based on the hypothesis that an understanding of materials, tools and the architectural worksite can help us to grasp the way in which the architectural object has been constituted over time. It is proposed to explore this reflection along three lines, at several scales and in all eras and geographical zones:

1/ The construction site as an ephemeral space and time for implementation ;

2/Thesite's permanent or temporary tools, which are sometimes modified or even created on site;

3/ The worksite as a place where materials are formed and deformed.

Articles must be submitted by June 15, 2024.
